Here are some specific facts about the individuals that make up this Fine Mess:
Shelby Rheam, Lead Vocals
Shelby is the girl you see singing at the top of her lungs in the car going down the road. A lover of music, she prides herself in being able to keep up with the boys. Shelby has always been a singer. She sings a variety of things from Alternative to Metal, Pop, Rock and Christian music. She has been the “front man” in other versions of this local band: Fuzed as well as the Shelby Ford Project. Some of her musical influences are Melissa Etheridge, Duran Duran, Journey, Stevie Nicks and Kansas.
Shelby and Brett met through their love of the Audio/Visual profession and found they had music in common as well. Nearly 10 years later they have a small business, play in a band, manage a family and run a household together. Now that Brett’s daughter, Mercedees is a part of the band, it has become a family affair! We built this family on Rock and Roll!

Rob Schmitt Bass…the funky frontier. Consider Rob as the Science Officer for your exploration into groove. With over 27 years playing bass, Rob has had a considerable amount of time performing in original music projects that centered on styles such as Psychedelic-Folk and Experimental Americana. Improvisation and unusual genre fusion were regular staples. Whether it is playing a gritty groove on the electric bass or pulling a bow across his upright, you will feel what he’s playing.
Bryan Matthew Ellis, Guitar
Bryan was given his first guitar at 7:30 AM on his 15th birthday. In the following years he rarely left his room – save for meals and other sundry items. He fostered a dream of paying the bills with music. Years go by, Bryan studied Music in College and set out to travel with a few bands – ultimately to settle in NWA. Today Bryan is living his dream of paying the bills with music, and brings the party to each and every show. When he is not entertaining the masses, he teaches at Arkansas Musicworks and is tattooing at Centerline Tattoo.

Billy Rheam, Sound
We did not have to look very far to find our new Sound Guy! Brett's big brother Billy took over managing our sound. This is his first endeavor as a Sound Engineer, but his ears are golden and he can fill the dance floor by bringing out the best of the band. We are pleased he decided to become a Mess!
